The first phase of the fifth annual Baby Bottle Boomerang was completed with a record number of thirty churches participating! The majority of the churches utilized the bottles beginning on Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, January 20, for a one month period but we also have had a church participate for the month of March and have three others planning to participate during the period from Mother's Day to Father's Day. As you can see, there are no limits to when you can become involved; in fact, plans are in the works for the baby bottles to be used as mission projects at Vacation Bible School during the summer.
As we have approached new churches and talked to individuals about the work of the Center, and specifically the Baby Bottle Boomerang, we have found that there are many people who are not aware of the full extent of the ministry of the Henry County Pregnancy Care Center. Perhaps they have heard of us and recognize the need for our services in the community, but often remark that they are amazed at what we do and what we offer our clients. This is truly a reflection of God's Blessing on the work of the Center and we consider it a privilege to serve and to demonstrate the Christian principle of the sacred value of human life. This ministry is funded in a great part by the generous giving of those participating in Baby Bottle Boomerang.
By the end of 2008, we have collected almost $17,000.00 in funds through the efforts of all those that have participated in Baby Bottle Boomerang throughout the year. God continues to bless this ministry through the growth of this fund raising event.
