Benefit Concert

On Friday June 24th the Henry County Pregnancy Care Center will be celebrating our 20th Anniversary by hosting a community concert featuring The Collingsworth Family.  The concert will be held at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center at 7:30 p.m.

The following is a portion of The Collingsworth’s biographical outline.

Excitement, spiritual anointing, family-emphasis, and musical excellence are what you can expect to find when you step across the threshold of the auditorium for an Evening of Family Worship and Praise with The Collingsworth Family.

Since their first engagement together as musicians for a church camp in Petersburg, Michigan in August 1986 until now, the ministry God has given Phil & Kim has expanded and flourished until it is a full-time livelihood that involves their entire family.  Their boundaries of influence have expanded until they have sung and played all over the Untied States (as well as internationally) into their nineteenth year of ministry.  Their constant, persistent attention to cutting-edge arranging, musical excellence, and a proper balance of spiritual emphasis are the keys to success God has helped them tap.

In January 2000, Phil & Kim transitioned to a new, all-concert ministry.  They placed their membership with the SGMA and began recording professionally, using Roger Talley as their producer.  This new emphasis began to expand their boundaries rapidly.  Their home has seen the addition of four children across the years and the children are now very actively involved in the ministry.  Their two oldest daughters are quite proficient on the violin and play at each of their concerts.  Their entire family sings together in an ensemble as well as Brooklyn, their 15 year old daughter, joining them in trio vocals for most of the program.  Kim is well known for her phenomenal mastery of the piano and the extraordinary talent God has given her is a part of each concert as well as trumpet solos from Phil.  Their recording repertoire now includes two instrumental projects, one of which was selected by the SGMA to be displayed as Porch Music at the SGMA Hall of Fame/Museum at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN.

Phil and Kim’s entire purpose is to give the talent God has loaned them back to their Creator as a sacrifice of praise.  Please plan to join us for a time of celebration and praise to our God who has blessed the ministry of The Collingsworth Family and the Henry County Pregnancy Care Center.

Baby Bottle Boomerang a Success

The second annual Baby Bottle Boomerang was a great success again this year.  Through the small and large baby bottles several churches and individuals were able to raise over $8,000. for the HC Pregnancy Care Center!  This is about $2000. more than last year.

Approximately 600 bottles went out on the Sanctity of Human Life Sunday in January and were returned about a month later filled with coins, cash, and checks.  The top giving honors go to the first time participant South Memorial Drive Church of God.  They were able to raise a little over $1,800. with less than 150 bottles.  Other participants included Cadiz Christian Church, Spiceland Pike Church of God, St. Anne Catholic Church, St. Rose Catholic Church, Oakville Brethren Church, Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church, Smyrna Baptist Church, Mooreland  Friends Meeting, Memorial Wesleyan Church, Pilgrim Holiness Church, First Assembly of God, Kennard Baptist Church, Mark Coy, Jeff Weiland family, and the office of Bud Shore.  Thank you to all our participants!

The bottles are available to use during the year at any time.  Other suggestions might be between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, as a Vacation Bible School project, or as a missions project for a mission’s convention.  Please contact the center if you would like to use the bottles to support the center.
