“WALK FOR LIFE” WALK-A-THON
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2008
(RAIN OR SHINE)
8:00 – 9:00 a.m. Registration at Baker Park Shelter House (Large Shelter)
Music, clowns, face-painting, T-shirt pickup
9:00 a.m. Prayer and the Walk begins!!!
Walkers will walk from the Large Shelter House to the sidewalk around the park and back to the shelter, just a little over a mile. (If you are unable to walk with us, feel free to obtain pledges and join us for food and fellowship at the park shelter.)
9:30 a.m. Complimentary breakfast served after the walk at the shelter.
Prizes awarded and fellowship with others!
2008 Walk Awards
“Walk for Life” T-shirt for walkers with $25.00 or more in pledges
Prizes for team (10 or less) with the highest total pledge amount
Special gift for the individual walker with the highest total pledge amount
“Filet of Sole” Award to the church with the most walkers
How Can You Help??
Walk in the 2007 “Walk for Life” and show your support for this ministry which daily helps young people dealing with unplanned pregnancies! The center receives no government funding and relies on people like YOU who care. Ask your family and friends to sponsor you with a single, generous, tax-deductible gift. The Walk is a little over a mile in length and we are asking for a flat amount pledge (not a per-mile amount). Please collect any pledges under $10 and bring them with you the day of the Walk. A thank-you letter with a pledge reminder will be sent after the Walk to people pledging $10 or more. If you can’t be there the day of the Walk, you can still participate by obtaining pledges and walking your mile at a time convenient for you!
